My name is Michael Ortega, with over 15 years of composing music experience as a solo independent artist. 

From the very beginning, I wished I had a parter I could rely on for mentorship, marketing, and artist development. After finding success in my own music career, I realized being independent was all I could do. However, one thing still remains true, and that is that being independent means you have to be your own writer, producer, sound engineer, photographer, videographer, promoter, investor, and more. Despite technology allowing more and more artist to produce fully Mastered songs from their home studios, it’s still very time consuming and expensive to do it all 100% yourself. 

Today, over 100 Original Compositions with a catalog with over 250 Million Streams on Music platforms combined, I decided to apply the skills I learned from administering my work and gathered a small team of like minded musicians and created partnerships with industry members to help other Artists with everything I wish I had from the start. At Ortamelody Records, we are centered on advancing your music career, not in owning your music!

This is why I created Ortamelody Records, not just to be my own personal label, but to also help small independent musicians looking for a flexible partner with clear goals, marketing strategies, and white glove Artist support. As an Artist that is also signed to this Label, everything I built for my success will be available with a fair and honest partnership to artists and songwriters alike in a group of curated genres.
